Ostasteidn rest area

Ostasteidn rest area is a toilet building commissioned by Norwegian Scenic Routes and designed by KAP (Kontor for arkitektur og plan AS). The building consists of three modules. We produced the modules in our workshop and transported them to Sand, where they were assembled.

The exterior of the building has a rough, industrial quality, in contrast to the surfaces inside. We used a specially developed technique – spraying white fiber reinforced concrete on billowy canvas – to make the the white, wavy inside surfaces.

We received Betongelementprisen 2019 from The Precast Concrete Association for the Ostasteidn rest area building.
